When You Can’t Have Sex

Painful sex can feel confusing and scary. That feeling of wondering what is wrong with you – I know, I have been there.

In my video below, I address the video uploaded by Boldly (Buzzfeed Yellow) which discusses a few things including Vaginismus. (Here is that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BT6ZtZdPMgo)

“According to the academic definition, vaginismus has been characterized as pain conditioned caused by involuntary spasm of the muscles around the lower one third of the vagina, resulting from the association of sexual activity with pain and fear (Butcher, 1999; Graziottin, 2006; Basson, Leiblum, Brotto, 2004). ” SOURCE: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1877042811009359

The above Case Report is an example of using Hypnotherapy as a technique to intervene in the occurrence of Vaginosis. (Please book a coaching session with me here if you are interested in using this to help you with this or another sexual disorder.)

Firstly, let’s talk about pressure… don’t ever feel pressured to have sex when you are not ready in ANY way. Instead, take this as a cue from your body that there is something that you need to heal, and heal it. In the Boldly video, there are references to the idea that you cannot cure Vaginosis. As you can see in the linked study above, that is not the case.

Secondly, sex is much much more than JUST penetration. It is something that you ease into – it is a journey that you go into and on with another, once you decide whether or not you even actually WANT to let that person into your body, anyways.

Thirdly, believe it or not, many of these types of sexual issues are symptoms of something else – not always, and in many cases it can be. In other words, you must heal the root of the problem, and not the presenting problem in order to truly rid yourself of it forever.

You deserve love, and you are capable of healing,

Always listen to your body and your intuition first, before anything else.

Sending you love and healing,

Pamela
