The Mercury in Cancer Man or Woman

The Mercury in Cancer Man or Woman is an emotional thinker. Normally, they are very careful speakers, unless of course they are emotionally provoked, then they can have uncensored emotional responses (even though they would disagree).

Trust does not come easily to a Mercury in Cancer individual, and this is one of the reasons that they prefer to have their family around them. They also want to communicate and be able to think in calm, secure environments, versus anything that might catch them off guard.

These people have a natural ability to make others feel connected to them through their thinking and their words, they can be very relatable. It also takes them a long time to really open up, but once they do, they feel comfortable showing and sharing their emotional sides with you in hopes to help you too.

Very influenced by their family and their past in the way that they think, the Mercury in Cancer makes decisions based on these memories that go with them throughout their life. Their early family life and parents shape their identity more than the average person. It is much more difficult for these individuals to let go of these parts of their life, and in many cases they may not want to.

Even when they want to be seen as more scientific, like Carl Jung, a Mercury in Cancer native, others connect with them more deeply and see them as someone who is relatable and connected versus being clinical.

“Don’t hold on to someone who’s leaving, otherwise you won’t meet the one who’s coming.” - Carl Jung

Princess Diana was seen as "The People's Princess", and she seemed to have grand images of how things should be with regards to the Royal Family, and once she realized that she didn't fit in the way that she had hoped, her mental health greatly suffered. Instead of being happy with the "prestige" of her role, she cared much more about truly connecting with people and being emotionally fulfilled.

"Family is the most important thing in the world." -Princess Diana
"They say it is better to be poor and happy than rich and miserable, but how about a compromise like moderately rich and just moody?" -Princess Diana

To my beautiful Mercury in Cancer men and women, thank you for teaching me that following my heart gives me more freedom than doing the right thing for some sort of perceived freedom or happiness.

Lovingly always,

Pamela
